There are 8 kilometers (5.0 miles) of cross country ski trails at Val Cenis. For snowboarders, there are 2 terrain parks. A small proportion of the pistes at Val Cenis are covered by snowmaking. The nearest airport is at Grenoble/St Geoirs and the nearest train station to Val Cenis is at Modane. I've stayed in the Alpazur, via Snowcoach, several times. Nowadays, with 4 grown up sons we self drive/train and stay in Les Balcons de Val Cenis village up in Lanslevillard. I love Val Cenis, it's unpretentious, pretty, and you can ski a significant distance. Now going back for the 7th time in the last 20 years, which proves how much we love it.
